بالشوف المشكلة مش إنو ما في كهربجية. المشكلة إنك تلاقي واحد بيرد عليك، بيجي بالوقت اللي اتفقتو عليه، وبيقلك السعر قبل ما يبلّش. هيدي الخطوات بتوفّر عليك الانتظار ووجع الراس.

In the Chouf the problem is not a lack of electricians. The problem is finding one who answers, arrives at the agreed time and tells you the price before starting. These steps save you the waiting and the headache.

١. حدّد شو المشكلة قبل ما تتصل

صوّر المشكلة أو سجّل فيديو قصير: البريز، الطبلون، الضو، أو السخان. وقول إذا المشكلة على كهربا الدولة، على الموتير، أو على الطاقة الشمسية والبطاريات، لأنو بالشوف أغلب البيوت عندها أكتر من مصدر كهربا.

Take a photo or a short video of the problem: the socket, the fuse box, the light or the water heater. Say whether it happens on state power, on the generator subscription or on solar and batteries, because most Chouf homes run on more than one power source.

٢. اطلب وقت واضح، مش «بمرق اليوم»

اتّفق على فترة ساعتين محدّدة، متل من ١٠ لـ ١٢، واطلب تأكيد بنفس النهار. الكهربجي اللي بيعطيك وقت واضح عادةً هو اللي بيحترم وقتك.

Agree on a specific two hour window, for example 10 to 12, and ask for a confirmation on the day. An electrician who commits to a clear time usually respects your time.

٣. اتّفق عالسعر قبل الشغل

اطلب السعر بعد ما يشوف الصورة، وقبل ما يبلّش. اسأل إذا القطع محسوبة ضمن السعر أو لحالها. الشغلات البسيطة متل تبديل لمبة بتبلّش من ٥ دولار مع يا معلم.

Ask for the price after he sees the photo and before he starts. Ask whether parts are included or separate. Simple jobs such as changing a light bulb start from $5 with Ya Maalem.

٤. انتبه للسلامة لحد ما يوصل

إذا في ريحة حريق أو شرار، نزّل الفيوز الرئيسي. ما تلمس أي شريط إذا في مي حدّه. وإذا الفيوز عم يطقّ كل شوي، ما تثبّته بالقوة: هيدا معناه في عطل أو حمل زيادة.

If you smell burning or see sparks, switch off the main breaker. Do not touch any wire near water. If a breaker keeps tripping, never force it to stay on: it means there is a fault or an overload.

٥. الطريقة الأسهل: يا معلم
